Xepoch

Xepoch is pronounced zep-uhk.

Xepoch is the concatenation of two primary words of interest in the Unix philosophy. X is from The X Window System that (despite some shortcomings) reverses the logical concepts between servers and clients. X is distributed computing at heart. The Epoch is known of course as Midnight 1 January 1970 GMT, and the numer of absolute seconds elapsed since is a key metric that can ease timeseries data modeling and arithemetic. Colloquially known as a significant time period, I'm certain the advancements that have been introduced with the Internet and the systems that drive it will be measured as significant in the future.
