Xepoch

Xepoch is pronounced zep′-uhk.

Xepoch is the concatenation of two primary words of interest in the Unix philosophy. X is from The X Window System that (despite some shortcomings) reverses the logical concepts between servers and clients. X is distributed computing at heart. The Epoch is known of course as Midnight 1 January 1970 GMT, and the numer of absolute seconds elapsed since is a key metric that can ease timeseries data modeling and date arithemetic.
